Neil Reed, 1997 Choke Victim of Bob Knight Dies At The Age Of 36

Neil Reed was mostly remembered by the incident that happened in the 1997 season for the Indiana Hoosiers. He was chocked by Bob Knight during a practice almost at the end of his Junior year. Reed went on to finish his college career at Southern Mississippi. Yesterday, it was stated by a fellow faculty member that he had difficulty breathing and he was taken to an area hospital where he went into cardiac arrest and could not be saved.Reed leaves behind two daughters, four and six years old and a legacy I am pretty sure, at a Central California high school where he coached football and golf. It's good that he managed to move on and lead a quiet life still managing to live out his dreams in spite of the controversy following the Bob Knight incident which caused him to get fired in the year of 2000. He is gone too soon, but will never be forgotten.
